Immerse Yourself in Yoga
introducing
The In-Depth Studies Yoga Immersion Program
offering a 60-Hour Summer Immersion and a 100-Hour Weekend Immersion
taught by Katja Huiras, Sandra Kessel, Carrie Morgan, Alysha Pfeiffer, Megan Ridge, and Jessie Thompson
If you love Yoga and wish to immerse yourself in the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of this powerful practice, we encourage you to consider our In-Depth Yoga Immersion Certificate Program. This program is designed for those who wish to deepen their personal practice in Asana (the postures), Anatomy and Alignment, Breathing & Pranayama, and Yoga Philosophy. We are now offering a 60-Hour Immersion program during the Summer, as well as a 100-Hour Immersion Program during the Fall through Spring months. Treat yourself to a gift you will truly value forever.
You will experience...
Asana Clinics: including Asana (postures), Alignment & Anatomy. This aspect of the program will deepen your personal practice and develop your understanding of the fundamental postures. We will take a in-depth look at sun salutations, standing poses, backbends, inversions, forward bends, arm balances and restorative poses. You will learn each asana from an anatomical perspective; understanding how to align the body for maximum safety and benefit. You will learn about the effects that asana has on your body, both physically and energetically. You will work with your fellow students to learn to see and adjust alignment in others so that you have a deeper understanding of the subtleties of your own practice.
Philosophy: In your study of Yogic Philosophy, you will discover how the ancient wisdom of Pantajali's Yoga Sutras can connect you to your heart and mind, enabling you to live your life with a greater sense of awareness and fulfillment. The Sutras provide amazing insight into the world around us and into the qualities of our minds. By looking at Yoga as a path toward change, we learn the skills to make, “that which was unattainable, become attainable, that which was impossible, become possible”. Lively in-class discussions of these vital concepts of Yoga philosophy will provide students with a level of understanding that extends beyond the classroom into their personal practice, and to every aspect of their lives.
Pranayama and Breathing: As we begin this course of study, we will look at the Anatomy and Physiology of how we breathe and how our breathing is affected by the way we live. We will study the shape changing aspects of our breath within our bodies, and use that knowledge to support our asana practice. We will also study a variety of Pranayama techniques including Ujaii, Viloma and Nadi Shodhana Breathing, which will give you the tools with which to begin a practice of your own.
The In-Depth Yoga Immersion Certificate Program has been designed as a module of our 200-Hour Teacher Training program! If, after completion of your Certificate, you wish to continue your studies and become a teacher, you will be able to apply this certificate toward your 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Approved Teacher Training Certificate.
